Manhattanville's Rafferty Named Player of the Week

Player of the Week

Monique Rafferty-Manhattanville
Senior, Forward, Saratoga Springs, N.Y./Northwood

Rafferty finished the week with seven points as her team swept two road contests at Castleton and Norwich. The senior scored one goal and had two assists against the Spartans on Saturday and finished with four assists against Norwich on Sunday.

Goalie of the Week

Amy Zappen-Saint Anselm
Sophomore, Huntington Beach, Calif./Edison High School

Zappen made 46 saves and allowed just two goals in two complete games this week.  She held the defending National Champion No. 2 Amherst Lord Jeffs to just one goal, and again allowed a sole goal to the Southern Maine Huskies on Friday.

Rookie of the Week

Katie Little-Manhattanville
Forward, Victoria, British Columbia/Team British Columbia

Freshman Katie Little had six points on three goals and three assists this weekend.  Against Castleton she had two goals and an assists as she scored the teams first two goals and assisted on a power play goal. The next day against Norwich she added a goal and two assists. Little helped on goals from Sonia Occhionero and Holly Nonis, while scoring the teams 5th goal of the game. Little is leading the team in scoring with 33 points and is just under a goal a game with 19 goals in 20 games.

Honor Roll

Lisa Wilson-Holy Cross
Senior, Defender, Corunna, Ontario/Sarnia Collegiate & Technical

Wilson scored one goal and had two assists in Holy Cross' two victories over Saint Michael's. She had an assist on the game winning goal on Saturday and had an assist on the first goal of the game, and then scored the second goal on Sunday. Wilson's 21 points are third on the team (6-15-21) and she lead's the ECAC defenseman scoring, averaging one point per game.

Kate Kellar-New England College
Freshman, Forward, Pittsfield, Mass./Troy Albany Ice Cats

Kellar totaled five points, including two goals and three assists, in two wins for the Pilgrims this weekend.  On Friday night Kellar had her hand in three of the six Pilgrim goals scoring two and assisting another in a win over Plymouth.  On Saturday Kellar assisted two of the three NEC goals as the Pilgrims pulled out the 3-2 win over Southern Maine.

Rachel Porter-Salve Regina
Freshman, Forward, Franklin, Mass./Franklin

Porter scored four goals last week, including her first collegiate hat trick against UMass Boston. She began the week with a goal against Norwich on Friday afternoon, then followed it up with three goals- including one power-play tally- against the Beacons on Saturday. She leads the Seahawks with 16 points (8-8-16).

Christine Rigosi-Nichols
Junior, Goalie, Ridgewood, N.Y./Sound Shore Warriors

Rigosi made 30 saves in a scoreless draw against Wesleyan on Wednesday. It marked her second career shutout and the second on the season. She stopped 13 shots in the first period and denied a penalty shot in the second frame. She made 15 saves over the second and third periods, and followed with two saves in overtime to preserve the tie.
