Couzin scored two goals in Sunday's 5-3 win over Sacred Heart. Couzin stole the puck in the Pioneers zone to go on a breakaway, scoring her first goal 13:41 into the first period. Her second goal would come with three seconds left in the second period on another breakaway.
Goalie of the Week
Sophia Kokkonis, Manhattanville College
Sophomore -East Meadow,
N.Y.
Kokkonis helped the Valiants blank Salve Regina Friday. Kokkonis stopped all 21 shots she faced en route to the shutout. In nine career starts, the sophomore now has six shutouts.
Rookie of the Week
Shannon Coffey, Manhattanville
College
Forward - Malden,
Mass.
Coffey set up the first two Manhattanville goals and was a +2 in her first career game, a win against Salve Regina.
Honor Roll
Tamsin-Marie Gosselin, Salve Regina
University
Junior, Goalie - Meriden, Conn.
Gosselin, despite being in net for two losses, had a strong week, stopping 71 shots over two games. In the 3-0 loss to Manhattanville, Gosselin had 44 saves and kept the Seahawks in the game, as the score was 1-0 heading to the third period.
Amanda Nonis, Manhattanville College
Senior, Forward - Brampton, Ontario
Nonis recorded the helper and scored an insurance goal in Manhattanville's 3-0 season-opening shutout of Salve Regina Friday. She continues to climb the ranks in the Valiant record books and is now in the top eight in goals, assists and points.
