Lauren Duran of UMass Boston Named ECAC Women's East Player of the Week Presented By Turfer Athletic

Duran was moved to forward during the team's contest at Colby College and never looked back, racking up nine points on four goals and five assists in three games on the week. Duran netted a goal at Colby on January 16 and then collected five points with two goals, including a power-play score, and three assists along with a +/- of +3 in the Beacons' 6-5 overtime win over Southern Maine on January 18. The rookie registered three more points and had a +/- of +2 on January 19 vs. New England College with a goal and two assists.

Barella made 50 saves in her lone game of the week, a 4-4 tie at Connecticut College. Her performance helped the Seahawks earn their first-ever point in the all-time series between the schools. In four previous games, Connecticut College had outscored the Seahawks 39-2.
Rookie of the Week
Rachel Sousa, UMass Boston
Forward - Woburn, Mass./Woburn H.S.
Sousa recorded seven points on three goals and four assists in a 2-1 week for the Beacons. In a 6-5 overtime win over Southern Maine, the freshman netted two goals and two assists, including the game-winner in overtime. Sousa tallied once and added an assist on the game-winning goal, in UMass Boston's 4-2 victory over New England College. In the Beacon's lone loss of the week against Colby Sousa notched an assist.

last week for the Hawks. Two of her goals were on the power play.
