Manhattanville Sweeps Weekly Awards
Player of the Week
Mickey Lang-Manhattanville
Junior, Forward, Reno, Nev./New York Apple Core
(EJHL)
Lang helped Manhattanville to the Assumption Holiday Tournament
championship last week by scoring three times. The junior posted
his second career hat trick in the tournament championship game
versus host Assumption on Wednesday afternoon, including the
game-winning score in the second period.
Goalie of the Week
Pierre-Olivier Lemieux-Manhattanville
Sophomore, Rimouski, Quebec/Neepawa Natives (MJHL)
Lemieux was named the Most Outstanding Player at the Assumption
Holiday Tournament last week after recording 21 saves in the
tournament championship game against the host Greyhounds on
Wednesday afternoon.
Rookie of the Week
Scott Hudson-Manhattanville
Forward, St. Albert, Alberta/Sherwood Park Crusaders
(AJHL)
Hudson was one of the best players on the ice at the Assumption
Holiday Tournament last week, registering two goals and three
assists as Manhattanville earned the championship trophy with a
pair of wins. The freshman provided the scoring touch on Monday
with a pair of goals in a 5-2 win over Becker, then dished off
three assists in Wednesday's 6-1 championship-game win over host
Assumption.
Honor Roll
Darcy Vaillancourt-Elmira
Sophomre, Forward, Bonfield, Ontario/Innisfil Lakers
(GMJHL)
Darcy had a standout weekend on the ice. He tallied a goal
in each of EC' s games including the game winner against the
Milwaukee School of Engineering in the first round of the Oswego
Pathfinder Classic. For his efforts Vaillancourt was named to
the all-tournament team. He now has 8 goals on the season and
leads the team with 19 points.
Colin Hoey-Elmira
Freshman, Forward, Doylestown, Pa./New England
Huskies
Hoey scored the opening goal for Elmira in a 4-2 win over the
Milwaukee School of Engineering. This was his first goal of
his collegiate career.
Casey Tuttle-Elmira
Senior, Goalies, Chelsea, Maine/Portland Jr. Pirates
(AJHL)
Tuttle made 46 total saves in two games this weekend. He
tallied 1 win and 1 loss while allowing 5 total goals. He
owns a 9-2-0 record on the season. Tuttle was named to the
all-tournament team for his efforts.
