Neumann's Park Earns Player of the Week Award
Player of the Week
Cory Park-Neumann
Sophomore, Forward/Mississauga, Ontario/Buffalo State
College
Park started 2010 off with two goals and two assists as Neumann
split a pair of games at Potsdam over the weekend. On Friday, Park
netted two goals and an assists. His first goal was on the power
play and ended up being the eventual game-winner. On Saturday, Park
assisted on the game-tying goal that sent the game into overtime.
Goalie of the Week
Nick Broadwater-Hobart
Freshman, Portland, Maine/Jr. Bruin
Broadwater collected 70 saves in a 2-0-0 week for Hobart. He posted
a .946 save percentage and a 2.00 goals against average, improving
his record to 6-4-2. Broadwater stopped 32 shots in a 4-2 win over
Brockport State, and picked up 38 in a 4-2 victory at 12th-ranked
Curry on Saturday. Overall, he ranks second in the ECAC West in
both goals against average (2.16) and save percentage (.916).
Rookie of the Week
Scott Hudson-Manhattanville
Forward, St. Albert, Alberta/Sherwood Park Crusaders
(AJHL)
Hudson helped Manhattanville to a pair of wins over the weekend by
scoring once and adding three assists for a team-high four points.
The freshman assisted on a key second-period goal and netted the
game-winner 36 seconds into overtime in Friday's 5-4 (OT) win over
Cortland, then recorded a two-assist night the next time out in a
win over Nichols on Saturday evening.
Honor Roll
Casey Tuttle-Elmira
Senior, Chelsea, Maine/Portland Jr. Pirates (AJHL)
Tuttle played a superb game in net for Elmira against the Cardinals
of SUNY Plattsburgh. He made 37 saves in 65 minutes of action to
earn the tie. He now owns a 9-1-1 overall record on the 2009-10
season.
Blake Bonham-Hobart
Senior, Forward, Toronto, Ontario/Newmarket Hurricanes
Bonham totaled two goals in a 2-0-0 week for the
Statesmen. He scored a late insurance goal in a 4-2 win over
Brockport State on Thursday, and tallied the game-tying goal with
6:30 remaining in the third period to spark Hobart's eventual 4-2
victory over 12th-ranked Curry on Saturday.
Kevin Willer-Elmira
Sophomore, Forward, Toronto, Ontario/North York Rangers
(OPJHL)
Willer scored the first goal against #2 SUNY Plattsburgh in a 1-1
overtime tie. This was his fifth goal of the season.
Chris Cannizzaro-Hobart
Freshman, Forward, Cazenovia, N.Y./Syracuse
Cannizzaro scored twice in Hobart's 4-2 win over
12th-ranked Curry on Saturday, including the game-winner with 27
seconds remaining in regulation. His first goal tied the game at
1-all in the second period. Cannizzaro leads the team in points
(18) and ranks second in goals (9), and ranks second in the ECAC
West in freshman scoring.
