Southern Maine's Joy Picks Up Player of the Week Award

Player of the Week

Zach Joy-Southern Maine
Junior, Forward, Dover, N.H./Monarchs

The junior wing helped USM post a 2-0-1 record last week scoring five goals.  He had two goals in the Huskies' 5-2 non-conference win over Suffolk University, added two more, including the game winner, in the Huskies' 4-3 win over in-state rival Bowdoin College, and had the game-tying goal with less than five minutes to play in a 1-1 overtime tie with Colby College.  Joy's five goals now give him 17 on the season to lead the team.

Goalie of the Week

Mason St. Hilaire-Southern Maine
Sophomore, Saco, Maine/Boston Bulldogs

The sophomore goaltender backstopped the Huskies to an unbeaten week (2-0-1) compiling a 1.95 goals against average with a .938 save percentage.  St. Hilaire made 27 saves in a 5-2, non-conference victory over Suffolk University to open the week.  He stopped 42 shots in the Huskies' 4-3 win over in-state rival Bowdoin College, and finished the week recording 21 saves in a 1-1 overtime tie with Colby College.

Rookie of the Week

Ben Schoeneberger-Castleton
Forward, Vernon, Conn./Hartford (ATJHL)

Schoeneberger was a key component to Castleton's 2-0-1 week especially in the 4-2 win over conference opponent UMass-Boston on Friday. Schoeneberger scored two goals in the win including the game-winner at 18:19 of the second period to lead the Spartans to victory. Earlier in the week against SUNY-Geneseo, Schoeneberger also notched an assist for a three-point week.

Honor Roll

Tyler Doremus-Skidmore
Sophomore, Forward, Aspen, Colo./New England Huskies

Doremus scored overtime winner vs. UMass Boston to give Skidmore the weekend ECAC East sweep.  He also scored the game-winner vs. Babson, giving him two game-winners and an assist in two games.

Arthur Hollinger-Castleton
Freshman, Goalie, Homer Glen, Ill./El Paso (WSHL)

Hollinger led Castleton to a 2-0-1 week including a perfect 2-0 record against ECAC East conference opponents totaling 66 saves in three games played. On Tuesday, Hollinger paced the Spartans to a 2-2 tie against SUNY-Geneseo stopping 24 shots. Against UMass-Boston, the freshman goaltender made 28 saves for a 4-2 win. On Saturday, Hollinger turned away 14 shots in a 3-1 victory over Babson.

Tucker Mullin-Saint Anselm
Freshman, Forward, Andover, Mass./Boston Junior Bulldogs

Mullin recorded four points in Friday's game against Saint Michael's.  He assisted the first three goals of the game, and then scored the Hawks' final goal to take the final lead of the game.

Colin Bessey-Skidmore
Sophomore, Goalie, Montclair, N.J./Trinity-Pawling

Bessey played two games last week, earning a pair of one-goal wins to give the Thoroughbreds a weekend ECAC East road sweep.  He had 29 saves, including five in overtime, in Skidmore's 3-2 win at UMass Boston. He also had 20 saves, 11 in the third period, in a 4-3 win at Babson.
