Men’s NCAA Final Four Set to Begin at Lake Placid


Cape Cod, Mass. - The 2008 NCAA Division III Men's Ice Hockey Final Four is set to begin on Saturday, March 22 in Lake Placid, New York. All games will be played at the Herb Brooks Arena in the Olympic Center located in Lake Placid.

The first National Semifinal will be played at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 22 and will feature the Norwich Cadets (23-6-0) taking on the Saint Norbert Green Knights (25-1-4). Norwich topped Manhattanville College 7-2 in their quarterfinal game on their way to the Final Four. Saint Norbert needed overtime to beat Saint Thomas by a score of 2-1 en route to Lake Placid.

The second National Semifinal is set to begin at 6:00 p.m. with Elmira College (20-3-5) squaring off against Plattsburgh State (24-4-0). Elmira skated to a 6-1 victory over Trinity College in their quarterfinal game to punch their ticket to Lake Placid. Plattsburgh State handled Hobart College in quarterfinal action, topping the Statesmen 5-2.

The two semifinal games will feature a live web broadcast to be provided by the NCAA and CBS College Sports Network. The feed will be available by clicking the "Live Game Streaming" link on ncaa.com.

An NCAA National Champion will be crowned on Sunday, March 23 at 4:00 p.m. when the winners of the two National Semifinal games meet in the Championship. The title game will be telecast live on CBS College Sports Network which is formerly CSTV.
