Senior Michelle Gibaud (Rochester, NY/Greece Arcadia) scored a goal and added an assist to lead The College at Brockport Women's Soccer team to a 3-1 victory over Medaille College in the championship game of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Upstate New York Tournament Sunday at A. Huntley Parker Jr. Field in Brockport. Gibaud was named the ECAC Upstate NY Tournament Most Outstanding Player after scoring two goals in the semifinal win over SUNYIT and the game-winning goal today for the Golden Eagles.

Brockport (12-4-3) struck in the second minute of play when Gibaud fired a shot that was knocked away by Medaille (10-9-2) keeper Alexa Wisel. Junior Jess Bush (Dryden, NY/Dryden) one touched the loose ball into the lower right corner for a 1-0 lead.

After the halftime intermission, Brockport extended its lead when Gibaud took a through ball from Jessica VanAllen (Chatham, NY/Chatham) on the right side for her seventh goal of the season.

Medaille cut the lead to 2-1 in the 67th minute of play off a direct kick.

One minute later, Brockport regained the two-goal lead when Courtney Belding (Rochester, NY/Gates-Chili) headed the ball off the end line eight yards out to VanAllen who blasted a shot past Wisel.

Medaille appeared to score in the 78th minute but the goal was called back due to offsides.

Brockport outshot the Mavericks 25-6 and held a 6-2 advantage on corner kicks. Erin Asquith (Arcade, NY/Pioneer) made four saves to earn the win as Wisel made 11 stops in net.
