ECAC Basketball Championships: Seven Teams Crowned Champions
Seeding and brackets have been selected for the 2009-10 ECAC Division III Men's and Women's Basketball Championships. All four regions, including New England, Upstate, Metro and South, will partake in a final four format championship. In each region, the highest seed not eliminated, who has committed to host, after quarterfinal play on Wednesday, March 3, will host the semifinals and championship on the weekend of Saturday, March 6 and Sunday, March 7.
Earning the No. 1 seed in the New England region for the men's championship is Eastern Connecticut State. On the women's side, Keene State College was selected as the top seed.
In a battle for the Upstate region, Ithaca College was selected as the men's No. 1 seed. No women's championship will be held this year.
SUNY Old Westbury has been selected as the men's Metro region No. 1 seed, while Stevens Institute of Technology is on top for the women.
Closing up the regions is Catholic University as the No. 1 seed for the men's South, while Delaware Valley stands at No. 1 for the women.
