CENTERVILLE, Mass. - The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) on Tuesday announced its 2012 Division III Metro Softball All-Star Team. The City University of New York Conference (CUNYAC) MVP, Flynn put the finishing touches on her impressive career by being named to the Division III All-America third-team. Fitzsimmons was recognized all-conference for the third straight time by the New Jersey Athletic Conference, making her first appearance on the First Team this spring. The first-team All-East Region selection had a career year for the Lions, including setting the program’s all-time strikeout record with 469. In her senior campaign, she set career highs in wins (18), appearances (28), starts (25), complete games (23), shutouts (9), strikeouts (144) and innings pitched (179.1). Beikirch became the first Gator to be named Skyline Conference Rookie of the Year. The second baseman made an instant impact at Sage by setting the single-season hits record at the school with 62. She also led the team in batting average (.434). Beikirch played all 46 games for a team that broke Gator records for games played in a season (46), wins (29), and runs scored (299). Sage finished the season as the runners-up in the 2012 ECAC Metro Division III Softball Championship.
Barrett, who is in his 11th season at the helm of NYU-Polly, led the team to a 27-11 overall record and a regular-season conference title. He has posted an overall mark of 150-117 over his time as the coach of the Fighting Blue Jays.
